Many of the members of St John’s are involved with nonprofit organizations in the region that are helping our neighbors, protecting Mother Nature, and especially helping the homeless and the hungry. We are going to start bringing their work as loving Christians to your attention through posts here and on our Facebook page.
One of St. John’s members, along with a former member, have become involved with TAPP in Flagstaff, the Teenage Parent Program. Kathy and Shelly have been busy making baby quilts, pillows, and baskets with some basic necessities for teenage mothers. In May, they brought TAPP all of these beautiful homemade items to help welcome their babies into the world. Kathy and Shelly plan on continuing to make quilts and pillows for each newborn and bringing them to the program’s office each May, and perhaps more often if they can. TAPP was extremely happy and delighted to receive these beautiful items.
TAPP is an alternative education program in Flagstaff for pregnant and parenting teens that want to continue their education, while remaining close to their babies. Students may register at any time during their pregnancy or after their baby’s birth. TAPP provides a smooth transition between pregnancy, birth and graduation. Students work towards a high school diploma from Summit High School.
Below are more photos of the beautiful items that Shelly and Kathy made for the mothers.
