Annual Community Blessing of the Animals/Pets
October 8 @ 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm
Free

All pet lovers are invited to the annual Blessing of the Animals on Thursday, October 8th, from 12:15 PM to 1:15 pm at St. John’s Episcopal Lutheran Church at 202 W. Grant St. in Williams. Each pet will receive a Blessing from Father Phil Shaw, a medallion for the pet’s collar or carrier. Staff from the Williams Veterinary Wellness clinic will also be on hand to provide each pet owner with wellness info and will be available to answer basic questions or concerns you may have about your pet.
There will be a donation box at this community event for those who can donate a can or bag of pet food for the food pantry at St. John’s. We realize that many people in the community may be having issues being able to afford pet food right now. So the collection will be used to help those feeling that pinch. There will also be a donation box for pet food at the clinic for the entire month of October.
All pets are welcome (from goldfish, parakeets, hamsters, guinea pigs, cats, dogs, goats to horses!). All dogs must be on leash at all times for the safety of other pets and your small pets must be in a carrier or appropriate carrying container. Large animals may be trailered in and Fr. Shaw will come to your trailer to do the blessing.
This free community event will be outside if the weather is nice and will be moved inside the double red doors if the weather is uncooperative.
