Worship Service for December 8, 2024, Second Sunday of Advent

‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways made smooth; and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ — Luke 3

Please join us this Sunday as we continue our way in this Advent Season toward the arrival of the Christ Child on December 25th.  Our hour-long service will begin at 10:30 a.m., and concludes with our coffee hour after the service. Fr. Philip Shaw will lead our service.

Holy Communion is served during our weekly worship service, and all are welcome at the Lord’s Table.  We are an affirming church and invite everyone to participate in our services and to learn more about us.  Check out our ministries and our history to learn about how we have combined the traditions of the ELCA and the Episcopal Church into today’s progressive church.

Later today we will have our annual Lessons and Carols concert/service for the community.  This begins at 4 pm and last about an hour.  Afterward there is a reception with lots of treats and beverages.  This program is free, although there is a free-will offering for anyone wishing to help us defray the costs of putting on this concert for the community each year.  This year we have five different congregations participating in either providing the music or reading the Lessons.  Come and enjoy this annual event!
