Becoming Beloved Community – “A Thousand Invisible Cords: From Genes to Ecosystems”

April 23 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

As part of our ongoing series “Becoming Beloved Community” St. John’s will be presenting several programs on ecology, earth-keeping, and climate resiliency. Programs are free and open to everyone in the community.  Join us in Walker Hall (the fellowship hall) to view the eco-documentary “A Thousand Invisible Cords: From Genes to Ecosystems” which presents a new and hopeful perspective on how to address some of the most important environmental challenges of our times, and emphasizes how even at the genetic level all organisms on planet earth are connected. This 2012 film follows the interdisciplinary research of Dr. Tom Whitham and scientists from NAU and other universities around the world. You will never look at a cottonwood tree in the same way!  Afterwards, if you would like, join us at Kaibab Lake to watch the rise of the full moon, also known as the “Pink” or “Fish” Moon. We will meet at the Day Use/Fishing Pier parking lot at 6:45pm, weather permitting. Please wear closed-toe shoes, and visit our FB page and website for updated information.
