Our Church Services for June 27, 2021

Weeping may spend the night, but joy comes in the morning. — Psalm 30:6

Welcome to St. John’s!  On June 27th we invite you to join us for our in-person worship service with Eucharist at 10:30 a.m.  If you are unable to join us in our sanctuary, please visit our Facebook page where you can view and participate at home in a pre-recorded video service with Pastor Cheryl Fox for the same day.  We leave the services on our Facebook page, however,  so you can view them at any time.  The service’s bulletin is attached below as a PDF file.  You can use this to follow along and to read responsively with the Pastor, and for home study and prayer.

For those who are joining us for in-person worship, we still practice some social distancing, and only ask that those who are not completely vaccinated to please wear a mask inside the church.  If you are vaccinated, and would like to continue to wear a mask indoors, that’s just fine with us.  We want everyone to feel comfortable and safe.  We are singing again and also will celebrate Holy Communion during the service.

St. John’s is an open and welcoming church for all.

Services for Father’s Day, June 20, 2021

Sunday Services for June 6, 2021

Adam Eve Eden

The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate.” Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent tricked me, and I ate.” Genesis 3

We continue this week to have an in-person service at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s and also a video service posted on our Facebook page by Sunday morning for those unable to join us in the sanctuary.  Both services are led by Pastor Cheryl Fox. Below you will find the bulletin for the video service so that you can follow along. It can also be used for personal meditation and study at home, or wherever you happen to be.

If you can join us on Sunday mornings, we ask that if you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 that you wear a mask inside the church building.  If you are fully vaccinated, you may choose to wear a mask or not.  We do practice social distancing within our seating in the pews, but we are all singing! And communion is a part of our in-person service.

We welcome all visitors to Williams and invite you to join us.  We also invite all in the area who are looking for a church home, to visit and get to know us.  We want to get to know you as well!

Christmas Eve Service 2020

We will celebrate Christmas with a service at 7:00 pm on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2020, with pre-service Christmas music beginning at 6:45 pm. Masks are required and we will practice physically distancing to protect each other.

We wish to let you know, also, that our vicar along with the Bishops’ Committee have decided to pause our in-person worship after the Christmas Eve service. Both of our bishops have requested that we not worship in person. The Williams area has at least 268 cases, according to the Coconino County website as of December 23, 2020. Case numbers continue to rise, and will probably not turn around until vaccinations are widespread, which could be months. It seems unadvisable to continue meeting, even with masks and precautions.
With our new Senior Warden, Deb Noel, we are planning to gather once a month outside for service and conversation. The first gathering will be at the end of January, for a service and our annual meeting. Pastor Fox will continue the Thursday morning Bible Study as long as there is interest, as we are able to meet in a large room and distance from each other. We also will try to establish a couple of days/times where folks can walk together outside to connect.
Below is the Bulletin for the Christmas Eve Service, which will also be available as a video recording on our Facebook page.

Third Sunday in Advent Service, December 13, 2020

Join us for the Third Sunday in Advent on December 13th at 10:30 a.m. in our beautiful and historic sanctuary in downtown Williams, AZ.  All are welcome at St. John’s.  We will also have the same service available on our Facebook page on Sunday morning as a recorded video for those who can attend. This video service will be kept on our Facebook page so that you can access it at anytime.  Below you will find a link to the service bulletin, which includes the prayers, readings, hymns and liturgy.

We do require that everyone inside the church wears a mask to keep everyone safe and to keep a safe physical distance.

Service for the Second Sunday in Advent 2020

December 6, 2020 is the Second Sunday of Advent this year and we will be worshipping together at St. John’s at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary and also on our Facebook page with a prerecorded video of the identical service.

We continue to require the wearing of masks inside the church and ask that everyone continue to practice physical distancing during the continuing pandemic.  This is to keep you safe and everyone attending the service safe as well.  This is the least we can do for each other.

All seekers are welcome at St. John’s! Please join us for worship during this season of preparation and joy.
