Worship Service for Sunday, April 19, 2026

Emmaus Jesus

When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.  Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight.   – Luke 24

This week we travel the road to Emmaus with Cleopas and his friend along with the risen Jesus Christ in our Gospel reading.  This is part of our scripture readings this Sunday at our weekly service at 10:30 a.m.  Our service will be led by Deacon Dale Gallup.   The service will include Holy Communion, and at St. John’s everyone is welcome at the Lord’s Table.  We offer both wine and grape juice for communion. Palm Sunday – March 29 – Eucharistic service at 10:30 AM begins with a distribution of palms. The service begins in Walker Hall and will process into the sanctuary.
Monday in Holy Week – March 30 – Eucharistic service at noon
Wednesday in Holy Week – April 1 – Eucharistic service at noon
Maundy Thursday – April 2 – Eucharistic service at Noon
Maundy Thursday – April 2 – Eucharistic service at 5 PM
Good Friday – April 3 – Service at Noon
Good Friday – April 3 – Service  at 6 PM
Holy Saturday – April 4 – Service at 9 AM – 9:30 AM
The Great Vigil of Easter – April 4 – Eucharistic Service at 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Easter Sunday Breakfast – April 5 – 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM. The Ringmasters handbell choir will play for us! This will be a pot-luck breakfast. Please use the sign-up sheet in the Narthex.
Easter Sunday – April 5 – 10:30 AM- Eucharistic service that will include two Baptisms

A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
