Thrivent Grant Received

St. John’s was the recent recipient of a Thrivent Grant!  We were thrilled to receive this grant that was submitted by Michael and Melanie Bradle.  The use of the grant money was coordinated with the assistance of Deacon Dale Gallup, and Deb Noel and Kris Vasquez who worked with the local high school counselor  and did the actual purchases.  With the counselor’s advise it was determined that the funds would be spent on hygiene products often needed by young women and for teachers in their Continue reading →

Worship Service for October 26, 2025 – Reformation Sunday

This Sunday we celebrate the Reformation.  Martin Luther, who was a German teacher and a monk, brought about the Protestant Reformation when he challenged the Catholic Church’s teachings starting in October 1517 when he posted his famous 95 Theses.  We will learn more about Martin Luther during our service, and we will also celebrate with special music.  Our service begins at 10:30 a.m. and is followed by our reception in Walker Hall with coffee, tea and treats. This Sunday, October 5th, St. John’s will celebrate the final day of this year’s Season of Creation with a joint service with the Williams Community United Methodist Church.  The service will be held at their church at 127  W. Sherman Ave. (corner of Second Street and Sherman Ave.) in Williams at 10:00 a.m.  Fr. Phil Shaw will lead the service for the two congregations.  And the Handbell Choir will be playing.
