This Sunday we celebrate God’s Work. Our Hands with ELCA churches across the US.  St. John’s is one of 8,300 congregations participating in this special work Sunday.  Our worship service will also reflect this special Sunday by incorporating special music, prayer and readings.  Our service will be led by Fr. Phil Shaw and our Reader this week is Tora Moody.  All are invited to join us!

We will begin the service with special music to commemorate all those who died on September 11, 2001 and those who continue to suffer serious health conditions and death due to the consequences of that day.  After our worship service (10:30 AM – 11:30 AM), we will gather in Walker Hall to do a project for the community.  We will be making platters of homemade treats to take to our first responders in the area (police, fire, air and ambulance rescue).  We are asking everyone to bring 12-18 cookies, bars, muffins or cupcakes to help make up the goody platters.  You can bring them into Walker Hall or the kitchen.  Please clearly mark that they are for this project!!

St. John’s welcomes EVERYONE to its worship service, Holy Communion, and to our fellowship times after the service (coffee, tea, and treats).  We are an affirming church located in the heart of historic Williams, one block south of Historic Route 66 and just 50 minutes south of Grand Canyon National Park.  We invite visitors to our city and region to worship with us, and also those who are searching for a new home church where they feel genuinely welcome.
