Becoming Beloved Community

Holding on to Hope in Troubling Times
St. John’s Episcopal-Lutheran Church invites community members to participate in a conversation on the ideas of civic dialogue, unity through diversity, social and environmental justice, and the respect for the dignity of every human being. The idea for this dialogue grows out of an initiative “Becoming Beloved Community”, of the Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation and justice, along with the “Creating Space for Conversations” series created by the Grand Canyon Synod of the ELCA.
The gatherings will take place once a month in Walker Hall at St. John’s, 202 W. Grant Ave. in Williams, AZ. Our first conversation will be on Tuesday, January 30 from 4:00-5:30pm, and will be an introduction to the year-long series, its topics, and our hopes for engagement. There will be a viewing of the documentary “A Citizen’s Guide to Preserving Democracy”, followed by discussion.
We welcome all who are seeking ways to connect with others across divides,
and desire to work together to embrace love, compassion, justice, and the unity that binds us all!
