Lenten Soup Dinner and Worship Service

During Lent, we will meet weekly to have a dinner together of homemade soup and bread, and follow our dinner with a short Lenten worship service in the sanctuary.   Please sign-up to make a soup dinner or if you plan on attending (so we know how much soup to make).  The sign-up sheets are in the narthex on the table, or you can email us at info@stjohnswilliamsaz.org   All are welcome to participate in the meal and service!

This religious day is observed by Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists, Moravians, Nazarenes, and more Christian denominations.

Services for the First Sunday in Lent, February 26, 2023

The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” But he answered, “It is written, ‘One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” — Matthew 4

You are invited to join us this Sunday, the first Sunday in the Lenten Season, February 26th.  The in-person service at 10:30 AM at St. John’s in Williams has been canceled due to the impending snow storm. We have a video recording of the same service and it is posted on our Facebook page.  The full-text of the video service is provided in the link below. You can use this to follow along with Pastor Fox on the video or you may wish to use it for personal study and reflection during the week. It contains complete scripture readings and prayers for the service.
