mustard seed

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” The Lord replied, “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, `Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. — Luke 17

This Sunday, October 2nd, is the last Sunday in the Season of Creation and we will celebrate the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, and we will continue the parables from the Gospel of Luke. Our in-person service will be at 10:30 a.m., and the video service on our Facebook page will be available by Sunday morning for those of you who cannot join us in the sanctuary.  Both services are led by the Rev. Cheryl Fox.  Below is a link to the full-text of the video service.  You can use this to follow along with the video service and it can also be used at home for study, reflection and prayer during the week.

After the service we will have a coffee hour – a time to greet each other, join in conversation, and share food and coffee/tea together.

At noon and until 2 pm, we will have the Blessing of the Animals.  If it it is not raining, we will have this community event outside on Grant Ave., but if the weather turns on us, we will greet your pets inside the double red doors.  This is a community event, with all pets welcome.  Please leash your dogs, and if you have a shy pet, a carrier may be appropriate.

St. John’s is a welcoming and affirming church to all who seek Christ in their life.  So you are hereby invited and we hope to see you on Sunday!
