Services for the 5th Sunday in Lent, 2021

Whoever serves me, the Father will honor. John 12

March 21 is the 5th Sunday in our Lenten Season at St. John’s.  We will mark the day with an in-person service at St. John’s at 10:30 a.m., and we will also have a video of the service on our Facebook page by Sunday morning as well.  We continue to require masks within the church and ask that everyone also physically distance themselves to safeguard all attending. We will gather in person on March 14, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary at St. John’s for the Fourth Sunday in Lent.  We will also have a service on our Facebook page for those you cannot be with us on Sunday morning. Continue reading

Third Sunday in Lent 2021 Church Service

For Sunday March 7th, we will worship in-person at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s, and we will also have a recorded video service posted on our Facebook page for those who cannot join us.  We will continue to wear masks and physically distance in order to ensure the safety of all gathered in the sanctuary.

Both services will be conducted by our Pastor, The Rev. Cheryl Fox.  The bulletin for the service is the link below (a PDF file). It contains the hymn lyrics, prayers readings and complete liturgy for this Sunday.

This Sunday we are happy to let you know that we will once again be holding services at St. John’s.  We will require masks and physical distancing.  Service will be at 10:30 a.m.  For those not able to worship in-person with us, we will have a video recording of the service on our Facebook page by Sunday morning.  Both services will be led by our Pastor, the Rev. Ash Wednesday Service, February 17, 2021

This year (2021) for Ash Wednesday we will meet online on our Facebook page with a recorded video service with our Pastor, the Rev. Cheryl Fox.  We will not meet in-person at the church this year.  The video will be posted by Wednesday morning, February 17, 2021. Continue reading

Holy Week Services and Activities

Historic alter and interior of St. John’s Episcopal-Lutheran Church Williams AZ, Good Friday

During Holy Week 2019, there will be many special services and opportunities for you to participate in the Passion of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and his resurrection at St. John’s in Williams, AZ.  We welcome everyone to these services and events.

The following schedule is for Holy Week April 14-21, 2019:

  • April 14 – Palm Sunday Service – 10:30 am, with the Eucharist.
  • April 18 – Seder Meal – 5:00 pm – Passover Meal. Please sign up for the meal and also to let us know what dish you can provide.
  • April 18 – Maundy Thursday Service – 7 pm This service will include the ritual of foot washing. The altar guild will strip the altar after the service (ritual procession to the Altar of Repose).
  • April 19 – Good Friday Service – Noon to 3 pm. There will be a liturgy at noon, followed by the vigil until 3 pm.  The church will be open for anyone wishing to come anytime during those three hours for a time of prayer and contemplation.
  • April 21 – Easter Sunday – 8:00 am – 8:30 am – Vigil.  9:00 am – Easter Sunday breakfast.  10:30 am – Full Easter Service with special music by St. John’s Ecumenical Choir.
