Worship Service for Sunday August 30. 2026

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are. Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all. — Romans 12

This Sunday our lectionary is full of stories and instructions for us today.  We will hear more about Moses, the important instructions of Paul to the Romans, and Jesus’s words to his Disciples.  Please join us at 10:30 a.m. for our weekly service to hear these readings and also to hear special music this week.  Our service will be led by Fr. Phil Shaw and our Reader is David Mills.  Our guest pianist is Billie Jene Watt.

All are invited and all are welcome at St. John’s.  Our double red doors are open to each and everyone who is seeking an affirming and welcoming church in Christ.  We invite visitors to our city and region and those who are seeking a new home church.  You are welcome no matter where you are on your faith journey.

If you cannot join us this week but would like to have the prayer of the day and also the scripture readings, the following link will provide you with that.  Proper-17A1 (PDF)

You are also invited to join us for coffee and treats after the service in our fellowship hall.  If you have questions about our two faith traditions (Lutheran and Episcopal) we would be happy to try and answer those for you.

We hope to meet you this Sunday!
